Froggy’s Lair
Froggy’s Lair is know for their easy to use Aquatic BioSpheres that house African Dwarf Frogs. Ryp, one of the co-owners to the company, was added to give the brand a mascot type character. These are the final designs that can be found on Froggy’s Lair products, branding and social media. As well as my original concepts and process to the final design.
Ryp Faces
In order to have some variety for application, I made a few simple faces to interchange.
Ryp Illustration Group 1
This is the first 4 out of 12 different pose possibilities for Ryp. The last two being the same arm placements, but the fourth being without the Triop.

This is the second 4 out of 12 different pose possibilities for Ryp. These are two different poses but with and without a Triop.
Original Ryp Concepts 2
There were ideas of taking design inspiration from the frog within the Froggy’s Lair logo and applying it to Ryp’s clothing.

These are the original ideas I presented of a mascot/caricature of Ryp. This was created when there was a new product surrounding Triops was being developed so that is the reason for the addition of the small creature.
Process 1
After finding a more solid direction and arm placement options. There then began making minor tweaks to get the design to a more finalzed place.
Process 3
A collection of different pieces in process next to the man himself. The drawing on the left was one of the last versions before making it to the final design.

Here you can see in red where there were some minor changed before moving on to Illustrator.
